Replace your inefficient furnace or boiler with the Pacific Northern Gas ENERGY STAR® Qualified Heating System Upgrade
There’s never been a better time for homeowners to upgrade to an ENERGY STAR® qualified natural gas home-heating system.
With Pacific Northern Gas bill credits up for grabs, Pacific Northern Gas customers will enjoy immediate savings on their purchase, and will save energy with their new high efficiency natural gas heating equipment.
Enroll in the program between October 17, 2005 and December 31, 2006 and you’ll receive:
-
A $250 credit on your Pacific Northern Gas bill when you purchase and install a new ENERGY STAR qualified high-efficiency natural gas heating system.
- An additional $100 bill credit (for a total of $350) if your new heating equipment is operated by a variable speed motor.
All ENERGY STAR qualified high efficiency natural gas space-heating systems are exempt from provincial sales tax until 2007. That means you’ll save even more money.
If your furnace is more than 10 years old, it’s likely a low-efficiency model, only averaging between 60 and 70 per cent AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency). In other words, it’s only producing around 60 to 70 cents worth of heat for every dollar you spend.
Install an ENERGY STAR qualified high-efficiency natural gas furnace or boiler and your heating system will run at a minimum of 90 per cent or 85 per cent AFUE respectively.
